Church Street General Baptist Church was established in 1986. Brother Danny Greene felt the call of the Father to build a house of worship in a community of less than 300. What began as a typical “little white church” on Church Street in Bremen, Kentucky, it grew into something much more.
By the grace of God, Church Street’s congregation outgrew its small building. In 2003 a new church was built off highway 181 in Bremen. While the church was moved from its physical location of Church Street, the name stayed as it represents the love that was once poured into a little white church that only God knew would grow to be what it is today. When Brother Danny was questioned on how many seats the church would need, the answer was 500. The Lord provided and each seat was filled. Even through the pandemic of 2020-2021 the church remained a staple of the community and of its congregation. Through online services, and eventually in person services, the church continued to meet and thrive until December of 2021.
On December 10th, 2021 a tornado ravaged the small town of Bremen, KY. Homes where destroyed, lives were lost, and Church Street General Baptist Church was severely damaged. While the congregation grieved for the building lost, a church is not a building but its people. A little over two years has passed and the messaged has stayed the same. While we are excited about the new building and the new faces. We are thrilled to welcome you into the same “home”.
